Career planning has undergone a revolutionary change during the last decade and redefined the way human resources are managed in organizations. However, this change is evident only in a few organizations which are modern, technologically savvy, business oriented and are in competitive sectors. Ironically, large number of organizations and managers are yet to become sensitive to this all pervading gale which is bound to fatally hit them, very soon. Large corporations, public sector undertakings and government departments, among others are prominent who continue to handle career management the way it was done in 1950s. Career planning in these organizations, with all certainty, would soon become a vintage of the past.
