The benefits of an effective CSR approach to an organization are multidimensional. Realizing this, companies have started proactively investing in CSR so as to build an engaging work culture and instill a sense of contributing to a cause much larger than the individual.
A CSR strategy aiming to offer clear benefits to the organization and create a positive impact on the well-being of the society, needs to be designed around integrity, sound values and long-term approach. Although with the passage of the Companies Act 2013, the mandate for CSR has been formally introduced to the scorecards of many organizations. Yet, the socially responsible corporates have been continuously engaging and promoting positive social & environmental change around themselves since long, as they realized it to be the only way for creating value sustainably. This realization was derived by the leaders of these organizations who looked ahead in the future and rightly moved away from being philanthropic to being ‘community development & empowerment’ oriented.
