Nitin Nahata, former global HR director at Tata Global Beverages, has joined Gameskraft, a game-development company, as its new CHRO. He will lead the HR function for the startup.
Prior to this, Nahata served as head-HR for Udaan.com, which is a B2B e-commerce platform and aspires to empower small businesses in India.
After completing his post graduation from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in HR, Nahata joined Wipro E Peripherals and worked with the company for a year as HR manager.Later, he went on to work in the banking sector, with renowned banks such as Standard Chartered Bank and HSBC. At Standard Chartered, Nahata was responsible for HR for the consumer banking and unsecured business. After spending close to four years with the firm, he moved on to HSBC as VP-rewards and job evaluation. There, he managed re-organising the compensation structure for the Bank. He also brought in new benefits and rewards to motivate people.
In 2009, Nahata took charge at Tata Global Beverages as chief manager – HR for South Asia for the sales and marketing division. After spending three years in this role, Nahata was elevated to director for global rewards at Tata Beverages, where he led the rewards, benefits, performance and employee engagement. Nahata also did a short stint with the Lodha Group, as SVP-HR, for seven months before returning to Tata Global Beverages as director-global HR.
Nahata comes with mixed experience in sectors such as banking, beverages and e-commerce and is now foraying into the game-development space.
