IT Hiring To Pick Up Pace By 10-20 % in 2021: TeamLease Survey

IT hiring is expected to pick up pace in 2021 with double-digit growth as clients across the world plan to digitise their operations. According to TeamLease, a staffing solutions provider, the demand for IT talents may gain speed in 2021 and witness a growth of 10-12 per cent.

The increased hiring will be backed by a recovery in the demands for contractual staff which the pandemic had hit massively. Advanced technical skill sets such as data sciences and data analytics will also see a rise of 45 per cent.

Despite IT Services being the least affected sectors during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, hiring had been paused in the first half of 2020 which went on to pick up from July onwards.

One of the earliest jobs to be hit - the IT contract hiring - regained nearly 75 per cent of the pre-Covid levels by September. Teamlease survey further states that the year 2021, will see a change in the working patterns with remote working continuing reducing the stress on the ob location criteria. Hiring practices will become data-driven, aided by AI and virtual screening, interviews and onboarding the candidates will be enhanced by the digital experience.
