Ashok Leyland Offers VRS Scheme To Employees Again

Ashok Leyland has offered a Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) to its employees. Approved by the board of directors, the VRS scheme is offered to all those employees who have completed a minimum one year service with Leyland. The company will implement the scheme over nine months.

Leyland, a Hinduja Group flagship said, "Upon implementation and execution, the VRS would help optimise the capacity and resources of the company."

N V Balachandar – President HR, CSR and Communication said, "The current landscape of the global pandemic provides scope for people to pursue flexible career opportunities and this will provide a window for the same. There have been many requests from employees for early retirement, and this scheme provides them with a viable exit."

Ashok Leyland introduced two schemes last year — a Voluntary Retirement Scheme and an Employee Separation Scheme (ESS) for those workers who are ineligible for VRS.
