Amazon Allows Work from Home Until June 2021

Amazon.com Inc has directed its employees whose work can be done from home that they can do so until June 2021, extending the timeline on a return to office due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

A company spokeswoman said in an emailed statement, "Employees who work in a role that can effectively be done from home are welcome to do so until June 30, 2021."

The online retailer had previously allowed work from home option until January, 2021.

"We have invested significant funds and resources to keep those who choose to come to the office safe through physical distancing, deep cleaning, temperature checks, and by providing face coverings and hand sanitiser," she added.

Alphabet Inc.’s Google, Facebook Inc., Twitter Inc., Microsoft, and Square Inc. are among the companies that have told some employees they may opt for remote work permanently if they choose.
