Hiring Activity Indicates 30% Decrease in Second Quarter: Report

The hiring activity in India witnessed a 30 per cent decrease in the second quarter (Q2) compared to the same period last year, according to a recent report by SCIKEY, a talent commerce platform.

 

The report claimed that the June quarter saw a 13 per cent increase in the number of work-from-home jobs as compared to Q2 2019.

 

Furthermore, demand for contract workforce climbed up by 11 per cent in Q2 2020 from Q2 2019 and that of full time decreased by 13.8 per cent.

 

The data showed a sign of revival in the IT and IT Services sector in Q2 2020 as compared to Q2

 

The findings also revealed that that IT and IT services sectors have shown a rise in contractual workers and full-time workers in the IT and IT Services industry have contracted.

 

In the Packaging, IT, Telecom, ecommerce industry, some of the top job roles companies are looking for are developer, analyst, management profiles, tester, engineer, senior and consultants.
