HR has long and hard argued in favour of employee engagement- how employee engagement helps build brands, increase retention and make the organization a great place to work. While HR leaders who pride themselves as ’employee champions’ have cried themselves hoarse over these benefits of employee engagement, they haven’t been able to make much headway in making this a priority for business leaders. For many business leaders, this is still touchy feely HR talk. This is for the simple reason that business leaders still don’t see the connect between employee engagement and the bottom line! As HR leaders, we have been speaking the HR lingo, but haven’t been able to connect this with business speak. It’s time for HR to understand & advocate how engaged employees have a direct impact on a companies’ bottom line.
