What’s The Return On Investment

Human resources metrics, HR analytics, or employee related business intelligence, all point at one thing, which is the science of quantifying human behavior at work. In other words, measuring various facets of the employee life-cycle at an organization (at a collective level) and providing a numeric value to the results. Very subtly, the erstwhile commonly used phrase to describe employees as only a resource, is moving toward describing them as ‘human capital’ instead, and rightly so! Given the quickly changing geo-economic trends, the face of traditional workplaces is rapidly metamorphasizing into globally oriented landscapes, where employees are offered positions in organizations based on the return on investment they are likely to contribute.
