Google HR Head Eileen Naughton to Step Down

Google human resources head Eileen Naughton is stepping down from her post as "vice president of people operations" at the internet giant.

Naughton has served various roles at the Google since 2006. The company added more than 70,000 employees during Naughton's tenure as head of human resources.

She will remain at Google in another role, though her new role is not decided yet.

"We're grateful to Eileen for all she's done and look forward to her next chapter at Google," Sundar Pichai, the head of Google and Alphabet, said in a statement.

Naughton stated she would work with Pichai and chief financial officer Ruth Porat to find her successor. “I'm at the very beginning of the process and wanted to let everyone know upfront, as I'll be working with Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Google CFO Ruth [Porat] to find a great leader for the People Operations team”, she said.

"My husband and I have decided -- after six years on the road, first in London and now San Francisco -- to return home to New York to be closer to our family".
