Tips To Scale Up Your Positive Vibrations

Tips To Scale Up Your Positive Vibrations

Self love is the essence to positivity, happiness and growth. Manifesting self love is important to being fulfilled and living a complete life.

Life is lived once, and what matter most is how we live it. Many would have lived and journeyed through life without even knowing the ‘what’ of it. However, it's those that live it to the fullest that decode it to be lived with laughter and positivity. The article discusses one of the myriad ways in which we could build positive vibrations within and around us. Contrary to what it may appear to be at first glance, this article has little to do with yoga and meditation. However, it is closely related to the inner pursuit.

In order to make it an interesting read and one that is beneficial to the reader, I have attempted to list some amazing tips to develop positive vibrations. Practicing these tips will be a task no doubt, but they are realistic, practical, and not too cumbersome. To make them actionable, each of them is discussed with the action plans, live cases, and ‘to do’ activity list.

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection” – The Buddha

Many people feel that spending time on themselves is being selfish, and I don’t know where that thought has its roots. Being obsessed with self is something entirely different from giving ourselves as much importance as we give to others. The oriental culture, which lays much emphasis on family and responsibilities of the individual towards family and society, has often been blown out of proportion and misinterpreted to a great extent. Over the generations the belief that one must not give any importance to self and if someone does that, she/he is considered to be self-centered has manifest itself more and more and has resulted in the guilt that many feel today.

Loving oneself is the first precursor for any kind of positivity. I strongly believe self love is the most important love in order to complete us as human beings and make us capable of extending that love to others. Loving oneself usually starts with accepting our flaws and strengths. Once we accept ourselves, it is easier to go ahead and stand up for ourselves. Validation of self often leads to minimisation of inner conflict thereby eliminating negativity at the base level. Although this alone doesn’t bring positivity, it definitely helps in creating a neutral environment for you to accept the challenges of life with clarity and a sense of self-respect. Over a period of time this will no doubt usher in positive vibes that will bring about increased confidence and a sense of security.

In the rat race of life, we seem to be losing our self. We forget to take time off and spend it with ourselves. For many individuals, ‘Me time’ does not exist. The mere thought of it is guilt inflicting and seems selfish. In our desire to remain connected with others – family, friends, spouses, children, colleagues and acquaintances, we find ourselves disconnected from ourselves but struggle with finding the time to reconnect with our inner being.  We live in three myths:

1. We know our self extremely  well

2. We assess others perfectly

3. We know where we are headed

All these three myths are busted when we face the harsh reality and discover   things going differently than we anticipated; people behaving oddly and letting us down when we thought they would stand by us, and our plans going haywire because we had not been realistic about them. These discrepancies cause negativity and frustration. How can one do away with this? I have a simple four-step process that can help you remain grounded in your thoughts and being as well as in your actions:

  • Self acceptance of flaws and strengths

  • Identify and address conflict within

  • Eliminate negativity

  • Love oneself unconditionally

You will exude positivity when you are sure of yourself first, and this will in turn enable you to relate better to the outside world. One word of caution is that this love for self should not degenerate into an obsession. That would be very dangerous and could have serious consequences such as denial of the fact that we, as individuals, are flawed. However, loving oneself and making peace with self is the first-ever step towards inner peace and brings positivity.

Love yourself first, as you can spread love only when you are filled with it. When we can deal with the self and are at peace we exude positive vibrations. Here are some of the self-love activities that I think can make a lot of difference to our vibrations and charge them.

The self-love activities

  • Take care of your appearance and attire; dress to impress yourself.

  • Pamper yourselves at least once in a while.

  • Be conscious of your weaknesses, and try to overcome them.

  • Acknowledge your strengths and build on them.

  •  Don’t allow yourself to be bullied.

  • Don’t compromise on your basic likes and tastes.

  • Stand by your ideas and don’t be apologetic if they are not accepted.

  • Don’t accept anything, if it is not to your liking

  • Don’t entertain people who try to put you down.

  • No one is perfect so refrain from trying to be superhuman, nor expect others to be so.

Loving oneself brings hope to an individual, and if this self love is carefully balanced with an objective view of self and doesn’t escalate into narcissism, one would be giving out positive vibes.

Loving oneself brings hope. Too much self love is narcissism and leads to disaster. We all need self love in good measure in our lives in order to make them productive, fulfilling and satisfying thereby resulting in a positive outlook.
