IKEA India aims to be truly gender equal by 2022

Breaking the stereotypes on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2020, IKEA India has announced plans to be truly gender-equal by 2022.

That means ensuring equal opportunities for both women and men at the workplace, and reaching 50-50 gender balance in every unit, function, and level. This isn’t just about numbers; it’s about breaking down the walls that keep women and men underrepresented in certain roles and building an organisation that recognizes the importance of diversity of thought and experience.

Equality is a commitment, a movement and to celebrate this commitment, recently, IKEA India along with Breakthrough (an NGO dedicated to the cause of Equality), had organised Equality at the workplace event at their corporate office in Bangalore, where they discussed, co-created and shared learnings with everyone on how everyone can work together to build a more equal workplace.

Ingka Group (Ingka Holding B.V. and its controlled entities) is one of 12 different groups of companies that own and operate IKEA retail under franchise agreements with Inter IKEA Systems B.V. Ingka Group has three business areas: IKEA Retail, Ingka Investments, and Ingka Centres. Ingka Group is a strategic partner in the IKEA franchise system, operating 374 IKEA stores in 30 countries across the world.
