Ex Jet Airways Exec Becomes the New GoAir CEO

Vinay Dube, the ex-Jet Airways executive, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) by GoAir Airlines. Dube has already been with GoAir in an advisory role since October 2019. He was working with Jet Airways as CEO till April 2019. He was in action when the airlines closed their operations due to a lack of cash and failure in generating funds.

Dube will be taking care of the efficient management of the airline, ensuring that the long-term objectives and goals of the company are met. This includes a fleet of over 325 flights daily spread around thirty-five destinations within India and overseas. His prior experiences with Jet and Delta Airlines should help GoAir draw the benefit in margin expansion, operational excellence and world-class customer excellence. which in turn will generate more revenue.

Dube is filling the position which got vacant in February 2019 when Cornelis Vrieswijk stepped down from the post of CEO. Since then, Chairman & Managing Director, Jeh Wadia was taking the additional charge of the CEO’s role. The utmost challenge will be to ease out the flight cancellations for a multitude of reasons including flawless crew rostering and timely deliveries of aircraft and spare engines.

Another ex-executive from Jet, Praveen Iyer has joined GoAir as its Chief Commercial Officer.
