Avendus Appoints SBI Mutual Fund's Kris Gomes As CLO

Avendus has roped in Kris Gomes as its new Chief Learning Officer (CLO). In this new role, Gomes will be responsible for creating a learning framework for the Company and driving learning and development initiatives and for creating an effective learning culture in the organisation.

 

Prior to this role, Gomes was leading the learning and development (L&D) agenda at SBI Mutual Fund as the head of L&D.

 

Gomes obtained a master’s degree in human resource management, specialising in culture and change management. Gomes then joined Crisil, a data research and analytics solution company, as the HR business partner, looking after the company’s news wire business, and overseeing its performance management system, payroll and HR operations.

 

He spent close to three years with Crisil, after which he served two short stints with BVI HR practices and Signature Talent Solutions for four and six months, respectively. Gomes played a crucial role in setting up the HR framework in both these startups.

 

In 2008, Gomes joined Mckinsey & Company as a professional development specialist. He was responsible for driving the recruitment, employee relations, employee learning and staffing supporting the Asia operations practice in India.

 

Gomes later moved to IDFC First Bank. In his seven-year long stint with the firm, he drove the organisational culture initiatives, HRBP functions, content creation and learning interventions, gamifying learning journeys of employees and running the entire HR operations for the company.

 

Backed by close to 18 years of experience, Gomes is also a certified MBTI practitioner.
