JCB Ropes In Umesh Hota As Executive Vice President - HR

JCB India Ltd has named Umesh Hota as its Executive Vice President – Human Resources, Administration and CSR.


Umesh is an MBA from Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management, Kolkata, MSc(Chemistry) and a Law Graduate from Sambalpur University, Odisha. He has over three decades of diverse experience and deep expertise in various facets of Human Resources.

Prior to joining JCB, he worked with Aditya Birla Group in leadership positions in two of their flagship manufacturing companies — Hindalco and UltraTech. Umesh has also worked with Philips Carbon Black and Bausch+Lomb as CHRO and HR Director for India & South East Asia, respectively. He is widely regarded as a thought leader, change agent, and speaker in the domain of HR.

 

In his previous assignments, Umesh has proved his mettle in driving change, managing growth in various M&A as well as in establishing vibrant organisation while transiting large projects into operations.

 

In UltraTech Cement, he is specifically credited for driving cultural transformation and creating a smart/agile organisation in the three extremely complex and large acquisitions of Jaypee, Binani and Century cement assets, which have been examples to emulate.
