Cognizant Goes On Hiring Spree; Plants to Hire 23k Indians Directly From College

Cognizant is all set to carry out a big hiring drive in India. Cognizant is planning to hire new graduates in 2021. 

 

Cognizant's Indian arm has a staff strength of 2 lakh employees with the company onboarding 17,000 people in 2020. 

 

The campus and lateral hiring plan will happen simultaneously. The business consulting, information technology, and outsourcing services major, is focusing on recruiting people for its digital products including services like cloud, data, digital engineering, and the internet of things (IoT), cybersecurity, salesforce, and business modernisation technologies.

 

Managing Director Rajesh Nambiar said that the Indian workforce is around 70 per cent of the company's entire workforce making the company is one of the biggest recruiters for engineering, science, and management students.

 

However, Cognizant may also be planning ways to reduce the attrition rate and retaining employees. Reportedly, Cognizant has been seeing a high attrition rate of all IT companies in India. It may be due to the 9-hour long mandatory work shifts.
