UP Govt Plans to go Paperless; Ministers, Officials to Receive Training

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman seems to have set a precedent by presenting the budget speech from a tablet instead of paper. Now, the Uttar Pradesh government is planning to train its ministers and officers in digital know-how and has informed all to carry tablets and laptops to the official meetings. The govt is making all govt work digital.

If one goes by reports, the government will conduct an e-cabinet training program where all participants will be trained in the basics of digital knowledge. Going digital is part of the state government to implement the central govt's Digital India Program to empower the country digitally.

The state govt has already set up an e-office system at the Secretariat and is aiming to digitise the cabinet meetings. According to reports, all documents and reports will be now made available in e-document versions on the laptops and tablets of all ministers and officials. All communication will take place online.
