Minimum Salary of Rs 23,000 For Govt Employees: Kerala Pay Revision Commission

 

Kerala's eleventh pay revision commission has recommended Rs 23,000 as the minimum salary of government employees with the maximum being Rs 1,66,800. The change will be effective from July 1, 2019. With the financial crunch that the state government is facing currently, the commission has informed that the recommendations include only limited pay raise and benefits. Headed by chairman and retired IAS officer K Mohandas, the commission presented the revision report to the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. 

 

A few highlights of the report:

 

  • Rs 4,810 crore needed to the pay raise and allowances
  • minimum increase to the salary is Rs 700 and maximum is Rs 3,400
  • Minimum House Rent Allowance will be 1,200 and maximum Rs 10,000 (four to 10% of the basic pay)
  • City Compensatory Allowance to be stopped
  • Dearance allowance till July 2019 to be merged with the salary
  • filament benefit fixed at 10%

 

An increase of 1.38 times in new pensions has been recommended which will come to effect from July 1, 2019. The minimum pension has been fixed at Rs 11,500 and the maximum at Rs 83,400. The duration of parent care leave is a year with 40 per cent salary.
