Cognizant Names Shinji Murakami as Head of Japan Region

Information technology firm Cognizant has named Shinji Murakami as the Head of Japan region and a member of Cognizants Global Growth Markets (GGM) leadership team.

 

Murakami has over 30 years of experience  in leading managed services, mobile communications, business development and go-to-market strategies in the IT sector.

 

Murakami has joined Cognizant from Microsoft, where he was the Managing Executive Officer of Enterprise Group.

 

As the head of Cognizant Japan KK, Cognizant's Japan subsidiary, Murakami will will be responsible for the strategic expansion of the company. 

 

Ursula Morgenstern, President, Global Growth Markets, Cognizant said " Japan is one of the strategic markets where we have been significantly increasing our presence over the last few years". 

 

Murakami stated "I look forward to helping Japanese businesses benefit from Cognizant's leadership in enabling digital transformation, while providing further momentum to our operations in Japan and providing a stronger experience to our talented employees in the country".
