DBS Bank Plans Voluntary Job-sharing Scheme

Development Bank of Singapore Limited (DBS) Bank is planning to introduce a formal job-sharing scheme where two employees will share the responsibilities of one full-time role. The objective is to support employees in need of more flexible work arrangements and transform how its staff work in a post-pandemic world.

Under the scheme, staff will continue to enjoy all existing medical benefits and retain bank’s insurance coverage.

Additionally, DBS plans to introduce more part-time work arrangements.

According to an implementation guide by the Ministry of Manpower and Singapore National Employers Federation, job sharing is a flexible work arrangement under which two or more people split the responsibilities of one full-time job. The work and roles of the job can be divided by function, geography, time or workload, and the arrangement requires a proper handover of duties.
