Reskill & Restart Program: Infosys announces plan to hire 500 more employees

IT services firm Infosys has announced a plan to hire 500 tech employees in Rhode Island, US, by 2023.

The plan is part of the company's broader workforce commitment and its recent decision to add 12,000 additional workers in the country, bringing its total commitment to 25,000 job roles.

"Rhode Island’s strong leadership, positive business climate, and innovative spirit are exactly what Infosys looks for in a host community," said Ravi Kumar, President, Infosys in a press statement.

"We are excited to increase our commitment to the State and continue nurturing design-focused specialists, as well as tech talent to serve the needs of our clients in the U.S.," he added.

These 500 employees will work on a wide range of tech-related roles, and the recently launched Reskill & Restart program will be among the channels used to recruit and train employees.

The program is an innovative solution aimed at reskilling the workforce who have been economically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The consortium led by Infosys, comprised of pymetrics, Merit America, Per Scholas, Revature, and Woz Enterprise, will leverage Infosys Wingspan to create a free, online platform, connecting employees and employers.

The program takes job seekers on a guided journey, starting with aptitude and skills assessment, followed by curated job-specific skills training, and culminating in matching them with available positions.
