As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread, Google will keep the work from home (WFH) option open for employees until June next year across the globe.
"To give employees the ability to plan ahead, we are extending our global voluntary work from home option through 30 June, 2021 for roles that don’t need to be in the office", Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai wrote in an email to employees on Monday.
The move is likely to affect about 2,00,000 regular and contract employees across Google and parent Alphabet Inc.
Earlier, the tech giant had allowed remote work until the end of this year (2020).
