Ambuja Cements names Neeraj Akhoury as MD and CEO

Neeraj Akhoury has been appointed as the new managing director and chief executive officer of Ambuja Cements with effect from 21 February, 2020.

 

Prior to this, Akhoury was managing director and chief executive officer of ACC Limited. During his tenure with ACC Limited, he was instrumental in the expansion, market share, and profitability amongst other aspects.

 

He has more than 27 years of experience across multiple roles including sales and marketing, logistics, corporate affairs like corporate social responsibility, strategy and business development. 

 

Akhoury replaced Bimlendra Jha, who stepped down with effect from 20 February, 2020, to pursue other interests.

 

Commenting on Akhoury's appointment N S Sekhsaria, Ambuja Cements’ Chairman, said: "We are pleased to have Neeraj take over the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. Neeraj is a cement industry veteran, and has years of experience in this business in India and abroad. We are confident that Neeraj will lead Ambuja further to higher levels.”
