Wipro CEO Abidali Neemuchwala resigns, hunt on for his successor

Abidali Z Neemuchwala has resigned as the Chief Executive Officer and managing director of Wipro due to family commitments.

 

The Indian IT services outsourcer has initiated a search for a successor of Neemuchwala to helm the organisation.  Neemuchwala will continue to hold office until a successor is appointed, Wipro said in a regulatory filing.

 

“We thank Abid for his leadership and his contributions to Wipro. Over the last four years, Abid helped build a strong execution mindset, drove key acquisitions and scaled our digital business globally. We wish him the very best for the future", stated , Rishad Premji, chairman of Wipro Ltd. 

 

Neemuchwala has more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry. Prior to Wipro, he has served key leadership roles with Tata Consultancy Services, in business, technology, sales, operations and consulting.
