Twitter has announced appointment of its independent director Patrick Pichette, the former CFO of Google, as chairman of the board.
He has been Twitter's lead independent director since the end of 2018.
Pichette replaces Omid Kordestani, who will stay on as a director. He is also a general partner at Canadian venture capital company named Inovia Capital.
In his new role, Pichette is expected to drive greater management stability and a stronger focus on the financial matters.
“Given the strength and depth of Twitter’s management team and Board, we believe that now is the right time to evolve our governance structure in-line with best practices,” Pichette said.
