Wipro names Thierry Delaporte as CEO and MD

 Information technology (IT) major has roped in Thierry Delaporte, the former Chief Operating Officer (CCOO) of Capgemini Group,  as its new chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director (MD).

 

Delaporte will be replacing Abidali Neemuchwala and will be taking charge on July 6, 2020, the company said in a filing to the stock exchanges.

 

The present MD and CEO Abidali Neemuchwala will be relinquishing his role on June 1, 2020.  ntil then Rishad Premji, Chairman, Wipro Limited will be resposible for the day to day operations of the company until July 5.

Thierry has an exceptional leadership track record, strong international exposure, deep strategic expertise, a unique ability to forge long-standing client relationships, and proven experience of driving transformation and managing technological disruption", said Premji.

 

Delaporte has worked with Capgemini for twenty-five years where he served many top positions.
